Most of the web runs on WordPress, which is often slow, bloated, and vulnerable to hacks. I use Astro to build 'Static' sites. This means your website is incredibly fast, virtually unhackable, and ranks better on Google because there is no unnecessary code slowing it down.
Will I be able to update the website myself?
Absolutely. For a small setup fee, I can integrate a simple Content Management System (CMS). This allows you to update text, swap images, or add blog posts yourself without touching a single line of code—all while keeping the speed benefits of a modern tech stack.
Do I actually own my website?
Yes. Unlike some 'subscription' website builders, you own your site and your domain. If you ever decide to move away from my hosting, I'll provide you with your files. I believe in keeping clients through great service, not by locking your data away.
How long does it take to get a site live?
A typical 'Launchpad' site can be live in 1 week. More complex Brochure or E-commerce sites usually take 2 - 4 weeks depending on the complexity and how quickly I receive your content. I provide a guaranteed timeline in every proposal.
Will my website show up on Google?
Yes. Every site I build follows SEO best practices. Because I use Astro, your site will be significantly faster than your competitors' WordPress sites. Since Google uses 'Page Speed' as a major ranking factor, your Koku Studio site has a built-in head start in the search results.
What if I don't have photos or professional text ready?
Don't worry—most of my clients are in the same boat. I can help guide your content creation, source high-quality professional stock imagery, or even recommend local North Norfolk photographers to ensure your site looks as good as it performs.
Are there any hidden costs I should know about?
None. I pride myself on 'No-Nonsense' pricing. Your proposal will show a fixed cost for the build. The only ongoing costs are your hosting (£5/month) and your domain name (usually £10-£20/year). I don't charge for maintenance, because there is none.
